Big Terrain, Big Snow, Big Culture

If you're looking for the ultimate skiing experience in Japan, consider heading to Aomori City, the snowiest inhabited city on Earth. Nestled at the northern tip of Honshu, Aomori boasts an average annual snowfall of over 8 meters (26 feet), making it a paradise for snow enthusiasts.

Base yourself at Aomori Springs, located on the northern slopes of the majestic Mt. Iwaki. This area is renowned for its deep powder and some of the best tree skiing in Japan. The Aomori Springs ski resort offers direct access to the volcano's expansive terrain via ski lifts, allowing skiers to explore untouched runs and enjoy the serene beauty of the Japanese wilderness.

With fewer crowds and unparalleled snow conditions, Aomori Springs and Mt. Iwaki provide a unique skiing adventure, ideal for those seeking both thrilling descents and a tranquil winter landscape.

All participants are required to read and sign a release of liability waiver prior to their trip.

Season - Late January/February has the best snow coverage.  The days are longer and the weather is more stable than January, giving us more time to ski bigger objectives. The snow base would also be quite mature, so creeks and other early-season hazards are no longer as big an issue.

Guides - We are extremely selective of the Guides who run these trips.  Guides are full ACMG Ski Guides or IFMG Mountain Guides. This means they have the training and the work experience to deliver excellent skiing while ensuring the utmost safety.

Exploration - We will ski the classic lines and local secrets.  Not to mention taking in a variety of Japanese culture along the way.
