Summer Kids Camps

What at a better way to spend the summer than exploring the outdoors, being challenged with new skills and learning along the way. Altus is excited to offer kids rock climbing and outdoor exploration camps all summer long. Both with a passion to introduce kids to the excitement or climbing and outdoor recreation but also to build relationships and keep their minds sharp during the summer months.

Dates: Starting June 29th camps run 4 days per week from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm through till August 27

Ages: Grade 3 - 5 and Grage 6 - 9 (going into)

Commitment: To ensure great flexibility for your kids and parents we are offering 1, 4, 8, and 12-day packages. Simply choose what dates you would like your kids to join if you need to reschedule that is possible at a small fee up to the night before your scheduled date.

Custom: Custom and private camps are available at any duration among requests. Have a group of families you would like to limit your kid's exposure to this summer. Work with us to create a program and schedule that works for you and your summer plans.

How It Works

Our kid's camps will take place in the outdoors around Squamish, either the smoke bluff parks of Stawamus chief area. Each day will have a specific activity goal in mind, either rock climbing, hiking, or outdoor exploration. In addition games and educational components are worked into these activities.  Kids will be dropped off at either Rose Park or occasionally Stawamush chief park at 9:00 and picked up the same location 3:00

COVID Policy

Health – All camp guides must ensure they are feeling well.  Prior to the guiding day, they must disclose to management any symptoms of, or potential exposure to, COVID-19.  Temperatures must be monitored.

Guides - All camp guides are certified for their given activity through the ACMG.

Gear – All gear that will come in contact with the guide or guests will be disinfected/cleaned appropriately, or isolated for 72h prior to the guiding day.

Distance – Whenever applicable, guides will maintain proper physical distancing from guests and the public.

PPE – Whenever guides are in close proximity with guests or the general public i.e. belay change over on multi-pitch climb. They will use PPE in the form of face mask, cleaned/gloved hands, and eye protection.

 

Camp Participant Responsibilities

Health – All participants must ensure they are feeling well and have no known exposure to or symptoms of COVID-19.  Guests will be asked to complete a declaration of health and exposure prior to booking and also prior to the camp session.

 

 

Operations

WorkSafeBC record-keeping - We commit to adhere to all guidelines set out by WorkSafeBC.

Guest documentation - Client’s records will be kept for the foreseeable future to ensure ease of case tracing if such information is required.

Guide documentation - Guide’s records will be kept for the foreseeable future to ensure ease of case tracing if such information is required.

Cleaning records - All gear that may come in a 2 member range or physical contact with any guest or guide will be cleaned to recommended specifications or isolated for 72h.
