Our Squamish Splitter Camp is a 2-day turbo boosted tour of crack climbing in one of the world's great sites: Squamish.

Join our Expert Guides and Pro Athletes for a high end look into crack technique from thin to off-width, protection strategies and advanced tips for succeeding on your project or just upping your game. We will visit crags that are off the beaten path and get into some obscure classics guaranteed to challenge any climber regardless of ability level.

The concept of this camp is to make you a better all around crack master ready to conquer all the single and multi-pitch objectives on your list.

What You Will Learn

This two day course will give you the skills and confidence to push your trad climbing abilities both on single-pitch and multi pitch routes. Rock climbing is primarily granite crack climbing in Squamish, so a large portion of the weekend is focused on refining the technique of difficult crack climbing of all styles as well as approaching challenging leads.

Is This for You

This is an advanced course geared towards climbers who are already leading traditionally protected climbs.  Participants should already be leading 5.9 or 5.10 of various styles (crack, corners, sport). With this base, we will be able to you to push into climbing higher grades with confidence and proper structure.

This course is run over a weekend in the Squamish area.  Venues include Murrin and Smoke Bluff park and of course the Squamish Chief!

Day 1

Meeting at the Squamish adventure center 8:30 am.  Climbing until 16:30.

Focusing on technical crack climbing skills: Corning techniques and thin crack, efficient multi-pitch skills and getting some pitches. Hand and off width size cracks. Short multi-pitch climbing working leading and anchor station techniques.

Day 2

Big day!  Multi-pitch climbing to push your ability. Angles Crest 5.10c, Grand wall 5.11a, Freeway 5.11c, University Wall 5.12a,

Please come prepared to spend the whole days outside in all types of weather.  It can be anything from cold in the morning as you will be climbing in the shade to very hot in the sun!

  • 20% deposit is required to secure your guides and or trip. Remaining trip cost is due 14 days

Less than 14 days from start date

  • Trip cost must be paid in full

Cancellations by Altus Mountain Guides

Upon confirming your booking we guarantee the trip departure. If we cancel a trip for any reason prior to the start date a full refund will be provided. If we are forced to cancel a trip for any reason after the trip start date, a full refund for the unused portion of the trip will be provided. Reasons for Altus canceling a trip include, but are not limited to: unsafe conditions, guide injury, and/or guide illness.

Upon confirmation of your trip Altus Mountain Guides enters into financial obligation and cannot refund payment or release you from your contractual obligation except for condition stated below in “Cancellations” Therefore in an effort to avoid unnecessary cancellation penalties, cancellation insurance is strongly recommended in the event you can not participate or if your trip is interrupted “for any reason”. This is available from most travel companies. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding our policy or obtaining insurance.

All participants must have personal internationally accepted medical insurance for all activities pertaining to your trip that also includes emergency rescue and evacuation. With your insurance please ensure you will be covered for “roped travel” if booking a technical trip.

About Ross Berg

Ross has guided, climbed and skied in the European Alps for the last several seasons. When he’s at home he can be found working as a heli ski guide in winters and climbing alpine rock routes in summer.
