Join Ross Berg ACMG/IFMGA and Nick D’Alessio AMGA for 7 days of backcountry ski touring and ski mountaineering in the Chugach mountains near Valdez Alaska.
There are few places in the world with terrain like Alaska and even fewer places with the mystique of the Chugach range. Raising straight from the highway is an endless supply of alpine terrain. From mellow alpine cruisers to steep couloirs, we will be skiing in the Thompson pass with the option of pushing further into the Chugach via heli drop or snowmobile bump

We will be basing our selves out of the Best Western – Valdez Harbour Inn, on the Valdez harbour. The hotel offers both single and double accommodation rooms. All amenities are available at the hotel: Restaurant, complementary breakfast, wifi, Fitness room.
Getting to Valdez
It is possible to either fly directly to Valdez or the much cheaper option is to fly to Anchorage. We will have a vehicle in Anchorage on April 11th to transport all guests to Valdez. Anchorage to Valdez is a picturesque 5 hour drive.

Why This Week
We are striving to offer a personalized, adventurous ski trip. Team Ross Berg and Nick D’Alessio bring a familiar level of experience and professionalism derived from the highest level of certification and a personal love for big mountain skiing.
Heli Assisted Ski Touring Day: With a relationship established with Valdez Heli Ski Guides we have ample opportunity to get a heli bump deeper into the range, either with a pick up flight or skiing back to the highway. Cost will vary from $400 – $1000 per flight (up to 4 guests)
Glacier Camping trip: Depending on conditions and guest interest, we have the option to fly into a glacier camp. This could be possible if we are looking to ski/summit a larger objective where an alpine start is needed.
