This hut based ski traverse is widely considered to be the Haute route the Canadian Rockies. Spectacular mountain views, high peaks and expansive glaciers make this trip a true classic.
Beginner to Advanced. Good fitness is required as you can expect to travel up hill on skis 2000 – 7000ft (depending on fitness). An average day runs 6 -8 hours. Previous ski touring experience is highly recommended. Please contact for further details.

March to May
Day 0: Evening meet and greet at your hotel in Canmore or Banff. Gear check and preparation.
Day 1: Travel north up on the to the scenic Icefields Parkway to Numtija lodge. Ascend up to the Bow Hut via Bow Lake.
Day 2: Our first alpine day! Over the Olive high col with a possible ascent of St Nicholas peak. Descend to Balfour hut via the olive glacier
Day 3: The climax of the trip! Up through wild broken glaciers to the Balfour high col. Possible peaks ascents and alpine ski runs. Night at the Scott Duncan hut.
Day 4: Summit Mt. Daly and start working our way out to Sherbrooke Lake via the Waputik Glacier.
